So, you’ve clicked on my link so that must mean you either liked what you read or you are being a great researcher, either way Hi, and a big warm welcome from the Bapia Training Hub. (BTH for ease)

At the BTH we are all committed to being excellent at what we do, and that is teaching YOU!

What makes us different from any other training?

Most importantly we are all academically trained, who cares! WE DO. I myself whilst teaching floristry had to do my Teacher Training Certificate of Education (Cert ED). It was a two-year course and had to be done alongside lessons all whilst being observed and critiqued on my teaching style and results achieved.

There is a whole plethora of techniques in teaching and differentiation is a particular one that helps when teaching a creative craft. This allows us to look at your learning style and workout a suitable style for you. To achieve exceptional learning, you need exceptional teaching.

We use lesson plans to keep us on point which can be changed and developed over time to ensure learning is achieved and up to date.

We have formative and summative assessments taking place throughout the day.

We give industry information backed with our own experiences that will help develop your own styles and ideas.

There are so many benefits to training and being trained well

I personally own a florist shop in Portsmouth and have many events I need to plan and forecast for, so my training is current. When I bought the shop, I took on the balloon side as well and made it my duty to train with the pros so that I too could feel confident in the outcome. We can all learn online, but we don’t learn what happens when it goes wrong and we do not have the skill set to fix it.

I have level 5 National Diploma in floristry and this gives me a skill set to apply to other disciplines. When I am using balloons and colour, I always look at the principles and elements of design to see if I have achieved a well-designed piece of art.

My ethos is, if I’m going to do it, I want to do it well. I do not pretend to be good at anything I am not, the reason for this is because the stress it causes out ways the minimal amount I may earn from a job. If I want a plumber, I shall call a professional !

I will be creating a course with fellow Bapia Member Angie George to put the 'Extra Special Florals' into designs, Watch this space.

You have to have the stomach for being a creative company as it’s a very competitive world out there now. With Social media platforms being the driver behind so many achievers, with this in mind I would honestly always choose training from an established reputable training company with the learner at the centre of the learning. Choose wisely for you, and remember learning should always be served with a smile.
