Introducing the BAPIA Trusted Supplier Compliance Charter

Building confidence, compliance, and stronger industry standards together.

Over the past few months, there has been growing concern and discussion within our industry, particularly online, about the sale of unofficial licensed products. It’s an issue that affects everyone, from suppliers to decorators and retailers, and it highlights something very important: our members want to feel confident that when they buy from a BAPIA Supplier Member, they are purchasing products that are safe, compliant, and genuinely licensed.

In response, BAPIA has created the Trusted Supplier Compliance Charter — a new initiative designed to strengthen trust and transparency across our industry. The Charter gives suppliers the opportunity to demonstrate their genuine commitment to compliance, safety, and professionalism, helping to protect both their customers and their own reputations.

By signing up to the Charter, suppliers will:

  • Be recognised as a BAPIA Trusted Supplier, with the right to display the official badge.

  • Be promoted to BAPIA members as a trusted and verified source for lawful, tested, and licensed products.

  • Help build confidence and raise standards throughout the balloon and party industry.

The Charter is straightforward but meaningful. It simply asks suppliers to commit to selling only lawful, tested, and licensed products and to support BAPIA’s wider mission of protecting our members, customers, and the integrity of our industry.

As part of this initiative, BAPIA will also be reminding members of the importance of choosing to work with Trusted Suppliers. Buying from reputable, compliant sources not only supports good business practice but also helps safeguard customers from counterfeit or unsafe products often found through online marketplaces.

While joining the Charter is entirely voluntary, those who do will be highlighted and promoted as part of BAPIA’s trusted network — making it clear to our members that they are dealing with a supplier who takes compliance seriously. The suppliers who have signed up to the charter will have the badge displayed on their logo in the suppliers resource hub.

This initiative represents a positive step forward for everyone involved in our industry. By working together, we can continue to build a safer, stronger, and more transparent future — one that supports both our members and the values that make our community so special.
